Vuzix M300 Smart Glasses Gains Mac and PC Screen Mirroring via iDisplay
With the app installed on the M300 and the companion software running on a Mac or Windows computer, users can mirror or extend the computer's desktop to the headset's display, which is connected to the computer via Wi-Fi or USB cable. The app does not yet appear on Vuzix's app store.
Vuzix is targeting the Android-based M300 to business customers on the premise of increased productivity with hands-free computer operation. The addition of iDisplay to the M300 eases implementation for corporate IT departments.
"The iDisplay application in conjunction with the Vuzix M300 Smart Glasses provides an out-of-the-box innovative enterprise productivity tool to wirelessly connect and mirror multiple smart glasses from one PC," said Paul Travers CEO and President of Vuzix via news release. "Display mirroring from an external computer is one of the top 10 requested applications from customers and we are now able to address this business opportunity through our relationship with iDisplay on the Vuzix M300 Smart Glasses."
"There are countless use cases that add value across B2B, education, and B2C, and a Vuzix M300 - iDisplay combination working out-of-the-box is set to be the choice of early AR adopters," said Ig Berezovsky, Shape CEO, via news release
